Charlie LOVES the water! Lynn and a friend signed up for a Mommy & Me swim class at a local pool, and they have been having so much fun swimming together. Charlie is great at splashing…and making faces. It looks like she’s gonna be a Surfer Girl too We are excited about that! She really loves being in the water!

Okay, so it’s been a while since we’ve posted anything and we’ve been getting a lot of people (angry people ) telling us we better post some new pictures “or else”. So here’s a few to tide you over till next time…

We’ve always know that Charlie loves the water, but the other day we were playing with her and we noticed these weird slits behind her ears…they almost looked like fish-gills! Just like the ones Kevin Costner had in “Water World”.  So, being the ever encouraging parents we are, we took Charlie to Kathleen’s pool to let her develop her underwater swimming and breathing skills (yes, our daughter is very talented ) and lo and behold, we discovered that Charlie is really a FISH! She absolutely loves the water! She is a natural swimmer (with a little help from Mom & Dad of course) and we are sure that once her hair grows out, the gills won’t be so noticeable

On Sunday we took some pictures of Charlie. And, she was soo good the whole time. Here are some of the more comical pictures of her and maybe a few of the EXTREMELY cute ones! No offense to everyone else in the world, BUT Devan and I have the most beautiful baby

A little update of what Charlie has been up to:

• Screaming for fun
• Mimicking mom in cooing and gurgling sounds
• Splashing in the bath tub
• Rolling over
• Eating Kentucky Fried Chicken Livers (j/k)
• Chomping on her itty-bitty hands and fingers

So recently I grew myself a beard. Not because I really like the way it looks (I look kinda like a gorilla), but because I have been lazy I guess. It’s so much easier not to shave! But for some reason, Charlie would just totally freak out every time I would hold her or get close to her…it must have been the beard because she’s not so upset by me now that I’ve shaved Anyways, in the process of shaving…I thought I would have a little fun with the beard. I tried some classic cuts and I want y’alls opinions The three styles I tried were:

1. The Ex-con Cut
2. The Red-neck Handlebar Cut
3. The Chaplin Two-piece Hybrid Cut

Okay, so I admit it…Lynn and I are both American Idol watchers. I don’t really know why we watch it…but it’s sort of addicting I guess. Occasionally there are a few good singers on the show, but NEVER, in the history of American Idol…has any man (or should I say BOY) been able to turn my wife into a puddle of melted sappy giggly goo the way that little cute, cuddly, snuggly wuggly just want to pinch his little cheeks off David Archuleta has! This darling little boy from Murray Utah, with his dainty child-like features, his irresistible little smile, and his tender vocals has the power to turn my wife into a 16 year old obsessed teenage girl maniac! I witnessed the horrifying scene firsthand tonight when we were watching the show! I heard probably 4 words of the poor kid’s song because Lynn couldn’t stop saying how cute and cuddly he was and how much she just wanted to squeeze him! Bleccccchhhh! The kid is like 16 years old for goodness sake! Paula Abdul said it best with tears running down her face after his performance, by saying that she wanted to just take him home and dangle him from her rearview mirror! I think the giggling and teenage girl screams from the audience would have paled in comparison to my wifes It was a little freaky! I think even Lynn was a little freaked out by her own craziness. But, when you see such an adorable, cute & cuddly little boy…I guess you can’t really help yourself can you?!? Needless to say, Charlie and I only get a little bit jealous when we walk past the life-size (all of about 4 feet tall) poster of David in our hallway….j/k

Growing up, Lynn’s favorite animal was a FROG. She has always loved frogs…and the other night when I was rummaging through the woodpile, I happened to find one and gave it to her. Apparently just holding the little guy wasn’t enough

Well, since I have been around my little brother Cameron (he’s addicted to fish) I’ve started to take a liking to fish and aquariums. But I don’t like normal, boring, mellow fish. I like FEROCIOUS ONES! Ones that will tear the throat out of their victims in a few split seconds That’s why I got these cute little guys They look deadly don’t they?

Don’t let these cute little killers deceive you! They actually are quite vicious. They are fresh water Green Spotted Puffers and they are carnivores. Almost like little piranha’s, they will eat basically anything that enters their tank except each other.

When I was first looking for fish at the pet store, I was admiring the cute little puffers and the store employee asked if I wanted to watch him feed them. I was like “Sure…but I don’t think watching them eat fish flakes will be too exciting”. He went over the the goldfish tank, pulled one out, and dropped it into the puffer tank. Instantly the puffers formed into a pack and began chasing the goldfish around, taking bits out of it’s fins so it wouldn’t be able to swim away. Once they disabled the goldfish from swimming they chomped out it’s eyes, then its belly and innards…until it’s empty carcass fell to the bottom of the tank! It only took them a matter of seconds! I was amazed – and in love So now I have 3 little Green Spotted Puffers of my very own. Their names are: Mr. Peebles, Spud, and Brutis. I will try to put up a video clip of them eating a live fish a little later…

Welcome, welcome, welcome…

Well, as usual things have been pretty hectic around the Muir house lately. Between getting the house ready for the baby, working with the youth program at our church, and workin’ like a mad man I haven’t had a lot of spare time to get this blog started. So hopefully over the course of the next several weeks I will be able to update everyone as to what we’ve been up to…even if it’s one scrawny post as a time
