So in the past four months, we have had some interesting, fun, challenging, and learning experiences. I think we have grown up a little more
To start our little journey our house flooded. Actually, I think, it started with a prayer for new carpet, no joke. And the next morning the entire downstairs was flooded. The carpet litterally splashed when you walked on it and you could hear water slushing under the wood floors when you walked on them. Crazy! I know! People say I must be doing something right to have my prayer answered so quickly, haha… I really don’t know what I am doing, all I know is that I asked and got a pretty funny/strange answer. God has a sense of humor and He is smart. He knew that thankfully our insurance would pay for everything and we have really been wanting to remodel but were short on the funds. As my Chiropractor said, “God is Good” and yes I agree. I feel that “my flood” was a blessing in more than one way.
Lesson learned from this: God knows who I am. Dev is very handy with a saw and or other tools. I can grout tile and seal it. I can be happy living at my mother-n-laws, sharing a room with my 9 month old… but not for too long
I am grateful to have such a wonderful mother-n-law who lives close and could help us so much. Sometimes you need to ask for help, even if it hurts a little or is annoying. Good friends show up when things are hard and stay around to see you through. Thanks Brett, Allie, Sean, Kathleen, Jake, Tom, and all the friends who watched Charlie and anyone else who helped. We love you all and we couldn’t have done this alone.
Next - Prop 8. Wow! We have learned a lot, I can’t write it all, cause its just too much for the blog. But we are grateful for the scriptures and their guidance. We are grateful for people who fight for what they know is right and true. We have come to the conclusion (me and Dev) That we deeply love and care for all people, and that all people deserve respect and rights no matter who they are. We also believe that some things are sacred, and we believe and marriage is between a man and a woman is one of those sacred things and must stay that way. We are grateful for the freedom of speech and religion and that we live in such an amazing country that has given us these freedoms. We are grateful for differences and that we can all agree to disagree on certain things in life with other people, and still have respect and kindness for each other at the end of the day.
Next experience: Teething is no fun for anyone!! Enough said
Lesson learned: We love!!!!! Being parents, there are times when its hard and frustrating, but its the best thing we have ever done in our lives and the best most rewarding/fun thing we will EVER do. I love my beautiful daughter Charlie and LOVE when she is in my arms and I know there is nothing better I could be doing, that life is wonderful even with little baby tears, baby sized ouwees, and sometimes ear piercing screams
My life has never been better. I love slobbery kisses, big giggles from my little lady, and crawling around on the floor with my second best friend (Dev is the first best friend, and he sometimes gives slobbery kisses too
) And I am Really grateful to have such an understanding, good communicating, loving, gentle giant of a husband. He is the best.
And there are more experiences and things we have learned… but those are for our personal journals
Its been busy…
Enjoy the pics of Crazy Charlie and our “new” house!
